Firstly, I’d just like to say thanks to Mr. Branson & Virgin Airlines for bending the rules on using mobile device use in flight. (Free Plug, I should get a free ticket now, right?) Anyway… I’m on my way to Queensland to run a premium 1:1 Workshop with a Luxury Skin Care Brand. I’ve got two goals specified by the directors:
1. Revenue Growth (Lead’s & an understanding of profitable marketing investments)
2. Time (better & more profitable resource allocation)
To achieve this we’ll look at all facets of their business: what they are doing, how they’ve been doing it, time allocation throughout the day/week/month, most profitable sales/marketing strategies, pricing strategy, products, target market, branding. Then, we’ll identity the clear revenue opportunities, set a plan, and give them the exact tools to transform their business over the next 90 days.
This is a big day! Anyone who has done this 1:1 workshop knows it’s exhausting and inspiring all at the same time.
This month we’ve kicked with a few new clients whom also have this common goal. Time, Resources, Marketing and Money.
By the way, it’s not uncommon for established businesses who have experienced rapid growth in the early years to be time poor. It really comes down to a few core things. Which can include lack of automation, the inability to let go of tasks that add little to no value, but still essential and sometimes event the fear of having spare time (sounds stupid, but it’s true).
To give you an example on the Automation side of things, yesterday we had our first strategy session with a well known global events marketing company. The events and marketing manager said through her teeth… “I want this to happen automatically, why can’t we do this? It shouldn’t be this hard and tedious”.
She’s was feeling frustrated with the manual time-consuming tasks that were adding little value to the business and pulling her away from her core expertise. Sure enough, a lot can be automated in their Marketing strategies… For now, we didn’t even need to invest in any new software. We gave them a map and exact instructions to automate these manual tasks. This bought her about 8 hour back in her work week and will generate a predicted $19,000 in gross revenue in the next 24 days.
Marketing and Business Process automation is the future! We live in a technology world, and a simple API could change your business & life! If you don’t know where or how you can automate tasks… Ask an expert! *cough cough* Me. Avoid making things harder for yourself by not automating nonessential business tasks.
The second thing you can do to get more time into your life is something I’ve written about before… Setting up the ideal week, time with suppliers, time with staff for training etc, administration, marketing strategy. Make is plan for the areas of your business you want to improve and block time out in your diary. Of course not everything goes to plan however if you intend to do this in a blocked out time your more likely to dedicate time to a goal.
Now it’s your turn, tell us your wish list of tasks you want to be automated and what areas of your business do you want to improve on but don’t have enough time. Start the discussion by commenting below and stay tuned for Part 2 of this post. 🙂
